A brief introduction of school of Materials and Chemical Engineering
There are altogether 95 staff members in our school.38 are professors and associate professors and 60 hold doctoral degrees.
There are 4 under graduate programs：Material Shaping and Control Engineering，Materials Science and Engineering，applied chemistry，Polymer Materials and Engineering.As well as 5 master degree programs.There are also a Materials Engineering joint programs with the University of Manchester .The school has set up national and provincial key laboratories and research centers,such as the State-Local Joint Laboratory for Efficient and Precise Diamond Sawing and Cutting Techniques,Henan Provincial Key Laboratory of Functional Salt and Henan university experimental teaching demonstration center.
We have a second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.Altogether 50 projects have received national and provincial awards,including NationalNaturalScienceFoundationProjects,sub-projects of National Key Research and Development Plan and so on. 700 research papers have been included in SCI, EI and ISTP, 100 patents of invention have been authorized.
Our students have won many prizes in various national competition events for college students, such as the Challenge Cup Competition, National metallographic competition and National college student English contest. Our graduates are very popular with the society and enterprises and enjoy good reputation in their practical ability and creativity. The employment and postgraduate entrance examination rate keeps above 90% in recent three years.There are more than 400 sets of large instruments and equipment such as ultra-high-resolution field emission scanning electron microscopy (HRTEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), in addition, the laboratory area exceed 3,000 square meters, which provide good conditions for scientific research.The college devotes to cultivating the Inter-disciplinary talents with knowledge, ability and quality, which can serve the development of Henan province's local and industrial economic, meet the construction needs of the central plains economic zone and aviation port area, and are applicable to the new materials and new chemical fields.
